Empties #10

I am still working through the Empties drafts from 2016, how sad!

An empty that will forever be repurchased: Pixi Glow Tonic. I just want it in my vicinity at all times. I don’t necessarily use it every day but if I feel the need, it has to be there! Gentle yet effective exfoliation thanks to aloe vera and glycolic acid at a great price: winner!

I got this Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm sample at Skins Cosmetics in Ghent. Is it just me or do many eye creams not really do much? Are my expectations too high? I genuinely don’t know but this didn’t do anything spectacular either. It didn’t irritate my skin either but just… meh.

If you’ve read my previous Empties post you’ll know this wasn’t a hit: Cowshed Lavender Gentle Cleanser. I wasn’t a fan of the smell, but for a great product I can get over that. However, this didn’t blow me away. Of course, I’m partly to blame: cleansing milks are not my thing.

Onto some body care now, with Paco Rabanne Lady Million Sensual Body Lotion. If you like the Lady Million scent (you probably do, it’s quite a universally lovable scent) and a light, runny body lotion, you will love this one!

The next empty came in a Caroline Hirons Cult Beauty Box (the third one) and I would have never bought it separately: Roques Oneil Therapie Himalayan Detox Salts. If aromatherapy, bath salts and detox are like music to your ears you will love this. To me, they don’t, quite frankly. I do like the packaging: a heavy, glass jar that oozes luxury and that can be refilled. Thumbs up for that!

I like REN, they have a huge range of products, something for everyone, at a great price. But this next product didn’t quite do it for me. Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish is a great scrub, in texture very comparable to Rituals Mandi Lulur Body Scrub which I raved about here but the Rose scent just didn’t work for me. Next time I need a body scrub and I have no Rituals counter near me, I might take a look at REN because the smell was the only negative for me. And for a pampering body product I do think scent is very important.

Speaking of Rituals‘ amazing Mandi Lulur range, here is the Shower Foam! Nothing bad to report here: wonderful smell, great texture (not too foamy, not too liquid): lovely product!

Miu Miu Eau de Parfum is the fragrance sample du jour. I didn’t hate it, I didn’t fall in love with it, it’s one of those inoffensive scents that work for many people without anyone declaring it “their” perfume, I think. Please do let me know if you feel differently!

Another set of empties in the bin, see you next time!
